Metal Sculptures honoring the craftsmanship of fly tyers around the world.
" In working directly with his materials instead of casting from a model, the artist has a rich variety of metals at his disposal. He uses raw metals: copper, bronze, silver, lead, iron, steel, and others. He can work with found objects of unending variety which can be rearranged to give them new meaning. He has but to select his material and choose his tools. He can elect to weld with gas or electricity. He can solder and braze or not use heat at all but simply form shapes by twisting, slotting, or otherwise joining the metals with the tools usually found in a home workbench. His choice is based on his own need for expression, experimentation, and exploration. And the field is so unlimited that the selection and experience can be an endless, exciting search. Even as his ideas and concepts change, he may constantly delve into new instruments for his expression. " -Direct Metal Sculpture 1966
